Debate at the European Parliament Plenary
These were some of my key messages during the debate on the Future of Pensions in Europe which took place during the Plenary of the European Parliament in Strasbourg:
- Almost 20% of older people in risk of poverty, gender pay gap in pensions of almost 40%, self-employed still facing less favourable conditions in the access to pensions…There are still many urgent issues to address when talking about pensions in Europe!
- Migration can give a positive contribution to the sustainability of the pensions system.
- We also need new ways to finance the pension system like Digital Tax or the Corporate Tax.
