As Hungary took the helm of the European Union presidency, a unique opportunity arised to reignite the flame of unity and progressivism within the nation and across the continent. Against the backdrop of challenges posed by authoritarian rule, Budapest became the stage for a gathering of democratic, socialist, and green activists determined to shape a brighter future.
On 25-26 October 2024, the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS), in collaboration with Solidar, the Group of Socialists & Democrats in the European Parliament (S&D), the Hungarian Delegation to the S&D Group and Hungarian democratic and socialist foundations organised the “Call to Europe” conference. This upcoming conference not only symbolised a resurgence of hope but also underscored the urgent need to refocus on how Europe serves its people.
